For dealers in Germany and Austria
Your cars in front of buyers from Switzerland
Anyone looking for a used car in German-speaking Switzerland finds plenty of them in Germany and Austria. What holds the purchase up is rarely the car itself, but what still comes on top before Swiss plates and how the export works. Carvexia answers those questions at the listing — before the buyer calls you.
- Customs duty on cars in Switzerland
- none since 1 January 2024
- Costs up to registration
- as an estimate at the listing
- Fee per listing, commission
- none
What buyers from Switzerland see at your listing
An estimate up to the plates
The listing shows roughly what still comes on top before registration in Switzerland: import VAT, vehicle tax, inspection, registration and transfer. As a range and explicitly as an estimate, with the source and date of the rates — customs assesses the actual charges. Whoever contacts you afterwards already knows the order of magnitude.
Your export terms
You state at the listing how you sell to buyers abroad: net price, gross with a refund once export is proven or net against a deposit, and who declares the export. The buyer reads it as your statement before getting in touch. Carvexia does not calculate any tax amount from it.
Evidence before money changes hands
Buyers can request a seller statement — on service, CoC papers, outstanding finance and known defects, for example — and a live proof that the car is with you: shots with a random code, the VIN and the odometer. Your answers appear at the listing as “stated by the seller”.
What you get as a dealer
Wanted requests from buyers
Buyers who cannot find their car submit a wanted request — with make, budget and the countries they would buy from. If your country is among them and the make fits your business profile, you see the request in the dashboard, without the buyer's name or address. A digest email sums up new requests at most once a day. You reply once, with a message, a price and, if you like, a listing; the offer goes to the buyer by email.
Stock from your export file
You upload the CSV file your stock system already exports and map the columns. On the next upload Carvexia matches by vehicle number: changed cars are updated instead of created twice, and in “full stock” mode whatever is no longer in the file comes off the market. Nothing is deleted.
A monthly report
By email on the first of each month and in the dashboard at any time: views of your listings, the share from Switzerland, enquiries and how many running wanted requests and price alerts match your models. We only show the country share once enough views have a recognisable country.
Dealer profile and enquiries
A profile at a fixed address with location, contact details and all your listings. Enquiries arrive by email and appear in the dashboard, with status, notes and — depending on your plan — team accounts for sales and workshop.
Carvexia is new
Carvexia has been online since August 2026, and there are still few cars listed. Hardly any dealerships are on board yet — if you start now, you are among the first. So we will not quote you reach or visitor figures we cannot back up.
What we show you instead: every month, how often your listings were viewed, what share of the views came from Switzerland and how much matching demand there was. That lets you decide for yourself whether the channel is worth it.

What it costs
Dealer plans cost a fixed monthly amount. Paid monthly, they can be cancelled each month; paid yearly, the plan runs for one year. There is no fee per listing and no commission on the sale price. What each plan includes and what it costs is on the pricing page.
All prices and termsFrequently asked questions
- Do I have to deal with Swiss customs and registration?
- No. The buyer — or their customs agent — declares the import at a staffed BAZG customs post, where vehicle tax and import VAT are assessed. Inspection and registration go through the road traffic office of the buyer's canton. Your side is the export from the EU: who declares it and how VAT is handled. You set that out in your export terms.
- Does Switzerland charge customs duty on cars?
- No. Since 1 January 2024 Switzerland has charged no customs duty on industrial goods, cars included. The import still has to be declared, and vehicle tax and import VAT fall due. The estimate at the listing works with these items and names the source and date of the rates.
- What does Carvexia cost for dealers?
- Dealer plans cost a fixed monthly amount, cancellable each month when paid monthly or running for one year when paid yearly; nothing is charged per listing or on the sale. The amounts and what each plan includes are on the pricing page.
- Do I have to maintain my cars twice?
- No. You upload the same export file your stock system produces for other portals. Cars with a known vehicle number are updated, new ones are created, and in “full stock” mode whatever is no longer in the file comes off the market.
- How many buyers from Switzerland will I reach?
- We cannot put an honest number on that today — Carvexia is new. Your monthly report shows how many views of your listings came from Switzerland, once enough views have a recognisable country.
- How do my statements appear at the listing?
- As what they are: your statements. Net price, export terms and the answers to the seller statement appear at the listing as “stated by the seller”. Carvexia does not adopt any of them and does not calculate tax amounts from them.
