Common questions
Buying a car
- Can I buy a car from another country?
- Yes. Carvexia shows cars from eleven European markets in one search and converts every price into your display currency so the offers are comparable. The contract of sale is between you and the seller; Carvexia is the marketplace, not a party to it. Plan for registration, transport and, where they apply, import charges — bringing a car from the EU into Switzerland means customs duty, the vehicle tax and import VAT.
- Why do some cars show a second price in another currency?
- The large price is always the seller's price in their own currency — we do not change that. The smaller amount underneath is a conversion for orientation, so you can compare an offer from Poland with one from Germany. The conversion follows a stored reference rate and is not a guarantee; what counts is always the amount in the seller's currency.
- How do I spot a dishonest listing?
- The usual warning signs: a price well below the market, a seller pushing for advance payment or an escrow service off the platform, a car supposedly abroad that will only be delivered after payment, and photos that turn up elsewhere in a reverse image search. Never pay in advance to someone you have not met, and ask to see the registration document and the service book. You can report suspicious listings to us through the contact form.
- What does the verified badge on a dealer mean?
- It means we have checked the business's commercial register entry and its trading address. It says nothing about individual cars and is not a guarantee — only that a genuinely existing company stands behind the account.
- How do I compare several cars side by side?
- Every car card carries a compare icon. Up to four cars land in the comparison view, which sets price, mileage, first registration, engine and equipment against each other row by row. The selection is kept in your browser, with or without an account.
- Will I be told when a matching car is listed?
- Yes. Save a search with your filters in your account; new matches appear there and you can have them emailed to you. The filters can be changed at any time without creating the saved search again.
Selling and listing
- What does it cost to list a car?
- As a private seller your first listing is free. Dealers pay a flat rate instead of a fee per advert — the current terms are on the pricing page. There is no commission on the sale price.
- How many photos should I upload?
- Eight to twelve. The ones that carry weight: front and rear at three-quarters, both sides, the interior from the driver's door, the dashboard with the mileage readable, the boot, the engine bay and the tyres. Show any damage openly — a scratch in a photo costs you less room to negotiate than a scratch the buyer finds at the viewing.
- How do I find the right price?
- As you create a listing we show you where your price sits against similar cars on the platform — by model, year and mileage. A price above the market mostly costs you time: most searches carry an upper price limit, and anything above it never appears at all.
- What happens to my listing once the car is sold?
- Set it to “Sold” in your account or in the dealer dashboard. It then disappears from the search but stays with you as a record. You can also delete it at any time — then it is gone for good.
- Who can see my phone number?
- Only someone who opens your listing, and only if you have entered a number. Enquiries run through the form on the listing by default: you get an email with the buyer's contact details and reply straight to it. Your address is never shown, only the town and the postcode area.
Spare parts
- How do I know whether a part fits my car?
- Every part lists the makes and models it is approved for, along with the manufacturer's OE number. The safest route is to match that number against the part you are replacing. If you are unsure, give the seller the vehicle identification number from your registration document — that pins the exact version down.
- Can I order parts without an account?
- Yes. To order you need a delivery address and an email address for the confirmation. With an account you also see your order history and the current status.
- How long does delivery take?
- The delivery time is shown on every part and comes from the seller who ships it. Stock items usually leave the same or the next working day. As soon as the seller dispatches, you get an email — that is the moment the order leaves the warehouse.
- Can I return a part?
- As a private buyer you have the statutory right of withdrawal on an online purchase; the seller states the period and the address for the withdrawal in the order confirmation. Parts already fitted, or made to order for your car, are usually excluded. For a return, contact the seller directly — they are your contractual partner.
Garages and appointments
- Is a booking request already a confirmed appointment?
- No. Your request goes to the garage, which confirms or declines it. Only that reply is the appointment — it arrives by email. If you reply to that mail, your message goes straight to the garage.
- Do I get a price in advance?
- Many businesses publish their hourly rate, which allows a rough estimate. A binding quotation only comes once the garage has seen the car. Describe what you need as concretely as you can in the request — the more precise it is, the more reliable the first estimate.
- How are garages ordered?
- By default, by distance from the location you give. You can also filter by service, make and hourly rate. There is no paid placement: no business can buy its way to the top.
Account and security
- How do I delete my account?
- In the account settings. Deleting the account deletes your listings, saved searches and saved cars. Completed orders are kept for as long as the statutory retention periods require — that is not a choice we make.
- What data do you pass on?
- When you send an enquiry or place an order, the seller concerned receives the details they need in order to reply or to deliver. Beyond that we neither sell nor rent data. Which services we use and what for is set out in the privacy policy — and what of it requires consent is your decision, in the cookie settings.
- I received a suspicious email that appears to be from Carvexia.
- We never ask by email for your password, for card details or for a payment into an account. Check the sender address and where the links actually go before you click. Forward suspicious messages to support@ruznic-marketing.com and delete them afterwards.
For dealers
- Can I bring existing listings across from another platform?
- Yes. The import takes the vehicle data from an existing listing instead of you entering every car again. Check what comes across all the same — you are responsible for the accuracy of your own listing.
- Can several members of staff use the same dealer account?
- Yes. A business can have several members, with the roles owner, management and staff. Each person signs in with their own account, so who handled which enquiry stays traceable.
- Can I run my workshop's day-to-day business through Carvexia?
- Yes. The operations module keeps customers, vehicles and jobs with line items and totals. An online booking request becomes a job at the press of a button, and a returning customer is recognised by their email address instead of being created twice.
