Used cars in Frankfurt am Main

Frankfurt has a high share of ex-lease and ex-company cars. Those often carry high mileage but unbroken servicing at a franchised garage — usually the better combination than low mileage with no record.

Buying a car in Germany

In Germany the periodic test is the Hauptuntersuchung, known as TÜV, and is due every two years. Many city centres operate a low-emission zone — the sticker depends on the emissions class and is stated in the registration document. Buying from a dealer carries the statutory warranty; on a private sale it is usually effectively excluded.
