Used cars in Hamburg
A port city with a high share of imports and re-imports. On very cheap offers, check the history and whether the car was previously registered abroad — that is stated in part II of the registration document.
Buying a car in Germany
In Germany the periodic test is the Hauptuntersuchung, known as TÜV, and is due every two years. Many city centres operate a low-emission zone — the sticker depends on the emissions class and is stated in the registration document. Buying from a dealer carries the statutory warranty; on a private sale it is usually effectively excluded.
